My approach

I treat women who feel unseen and unheard in the conventional medical system, transforming their disconnection from their body's wisdom into deep trust in their inner knowing—so they can experience healthcare that honors both their physical needs and their sacred journey as women.

Patients receive evidence-based care including prescriptions, screenings and labs as needed, as well as the time and space to be fully heard.

She really listens, taking the time to understand my concerns and tailor a treatment plan that works for me. Her compassionate approach and deep knowledge has made such a difference in my well-being. It’s rare to find a provider who is both highly skilled and genuinely cares about their patients, but Jane exceeds expectations on all fronts. I’m so grateful to have found her!”

Perfect for You If…

Your intuition conflicts with medical advice and you feel gaslit.

You sense something deeper is happening, but doctors dismiss your concerns or offer only Band-Aid solutions. You're mourning the disconnection between modern medicine and ancestral wisdom. You need a provider who validates your inner knowing while offering medical safety and support.

You've "tried everything" and nothing has brought lasting relief.

You've cycled through providers, treatments, and approaches. You're exhausted by being told to just push through, just take this pill, just accept that this is how it is. You're ready for someone who will take the time to truly understand your whole situation—physical, emotional, and spiritual.

You're navigating a major transition, such as perimenopause or postpartum, and conventional medicine offers pills but no meaning.

You're told your symptoms are "just hormones" or "normal for your age," but no one is explaining anything beyond that. You're craving thoughtful guidance that incorporates the latest science and supports this time in your life as initiation into your wisdom years.

You want to trust your body's wisdom while having a medical safety net.

You're not rejecting modern medicine—you're rejecting a system that ignores your wholeness. You want a partnership approach where your voice matters, where your body's messages are honored, and where appropriate medical interventions are available when you need them.

Wise Body is Probably Not for You If…

You want to “get in and get out.”

This is a small private practice. While your care will be top-notch you won’t get the type of administrative efficiency you might be used to in a big healthcare system. If convenience is your top priority, this is probably not for you.

You have a biohacking, health optimization mindset.

The Wise Body approach is rooted in the midwife philosophy that the body is the guide. The idea is to slow down, listen, and support the body you were born with. While it’s not a strictly “all-natural” approach, interventions like starting a medication are weighed carefully. If you are someone who loves to experiment with the latest new drugs, and would rather do more than less, you would probably be happier at a different practice.

The Sacred Passage™

Women's bodies move in cycles within cycles: monthly menstrual cycles, pregnancy and postpartum, perimenopause and beyond. The Sacred Passage is a framework for moving through them together, which blends evidence-based care with intuitive wisdom to understand what your body is telling you.

  1. Phase one

    Grounding

A comprehensive holistic assessment combining medical history, nutrition, sleep, mental health, spiritual practices, and energetic assessment.

Painted orbits of light circling a small sun against deep blue

I'm Jane Riccobono, a midwife, nurse practitioner and meditation teacher.

Jane Riccobono, smiling, in black and white

I became a Certified Nurse Midwife and Women's Health Nurse Practitioner thinking I could change things from inside the system. After years of watching myself become what I didn't want to be—rushed, burned out, unable to provide the care I knew women deserved—I had to choose.

I could keep trying to fit myself into a system that treats symptoms as inconveniences to be suppressed. Or I could step into what I know to be true: that women's bodies are wise. That our cycles are sacred. That the pain we experience often carries messages we need to hear. That healthcare can be both scientifically sound AND spiritually profound.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is this different from a regular doctor's appointment?

There is an art as well as a science to healing. In addition to medical assessment and treatment (including blood work and prescriptions as needed), you will receive holistic guidance and support.

You will be heard deeply and thoroughly. Your concerns will be considered carefully. And you will be given a specific, individualized plan to take you from where you are to where you want to go.

What conditions do you treat?

I treat a range of different women’s health and reproductive health conditions including painful periods, PCOS, irregular cycles, menopause, and perimenopause. I also provide gynecology and sexual health care such as pap smears, birth control, STI/STD testing, UTI treatment and more.

Why doesn't Wise Body accept insurance?

Insurance companies dictate the length, content, and scope of medical appointments. They decide what's "medically necessary" and what isn't. They don't reimburse for 60-minute deep-dive consultations. They don't cover time spent reviewing your full history, discussing your spiritual context, or exploring root causes. They have never covered the kind of care you're looking for here—and that's not a coincidence. That's by design.

Accepting insurance would mean 15-minute appointments. It would mean billing for a narrow set of services and ignoring everything else. It would mean becoming the very system you came here to leave. Choosing to operate outside of insurance is choosing to give you genuine, unhurried, whole-person care. It's the same choice you're making when you seek out a practice like this one.

Can I still use my insurance at all?

Possibly, yes. While Wise Body does not bill your insurance directly, you will receive a Superbill upon request after your appointment. You can submit this directly to your insurance company to request reimbursement under your out-of-network benefits. Alternatively, you may be able to pay with your HSA or FSA, as many integrative and women's health services qualify.

What states do you see patients in?
